More than a pool: a whole backyard, delivered in one go
Designed and constructed by Refined Group: a new concrete pool, an outdoor bathroom, and an existing brick shed converted into a gym and office. Every trade coordinated on a tight-access site, in a single build.
One backyard, many trades, one team
This Willoughby project is the clearest picture of what makes Refined Group different. The brief began with a swimming pool: a fully engineered concrete pool with a mosaic waterline, stone surrounds and glass fencing. But it did not end there. We built a brand-new outdoor bathroom, added an outdoor shower behind a laser-cut privacy screen, and converted the existing brick shed into a light-filled gym and office overlooking the pool.
A pool company builds you a pool. A landscaper does your garden. A builder handles the structures. On this project, Refined Group was all three. Every element designed together, priced together and delivered together, by one team under one contract.
Difficult access, and everything at once
The site’s biggest challenges were access and coordination. Tight access meant excavation, concrete and materials all had to be planned around what could physically reach the backyard. There is no margin for a trade turning up out of sequence when every delivery is hard-won.
And because the pool, the outdoor bathroom, the shed conversion and the surrounds were all delivered in one go, the program mattered as much as the workmanship. This is where a single design-and-construct team earns its keep: one schedule, one point of accountability, and no gaps between the trades.

Concrete pool, mosaic waterline
A fully engineered concrete pool finished with a glass mosaic waterline and stone coping. Quality you can see at the water’s edge.
Shed converted to gym + office
The existing brick shed was transformed into a gym and office with a picture window over the pool. New life for a structure most pool builders would have worked around.
New outdoor bathroom
A brand-new outdoor bathroom serves the pool and backyard, fully tiled, plumbed and finished to indoor standard.
Outdoor shower
A copper outdoor shower set against a laser-cut privacy screen. A small detail that makes the whole pool area work harder.
Glass fencing & stone surrounds
Glass pool fencing keeps the pool visible from the alfresco and lawn while meeting every compliance requirement.
Poolside planting
Succulent and architectural planting along the fence line softens the hard surfaces and frames the pool without dropping leaves in it.
Tight-access build
