Refined Gardens is where it all began in 2005, born from our family’s deep-rooted heritage in landscaping. At our core, we’re landscapers who love everything from concrete work to plants, outdoor projects, and heavy machinery. Over the years we’ve built lasting relationships with some of Sydney’s top nursery suppliers.
Two decades on, that same landscaping heritage underpins everything the Refined Group builds, from complete gardens to the pools and homes they surround. Thoughtful landscaping is what truly completes your home.

While we admire landscape traditions such as Parterre or Hampton inspired gardens, we believe a strong sense of Australia’s unique identity can be found in our gardens. Our designs carry a strong focus on Australian native plants, though we don’t shy away from exotics where they suit.
We use Australian materials and design outdoor spaces that are functional, beautiful and made for the way we live.

Structural landscaping
All your regular landscaping services along with the specialised ones: detailed driveways, tight access excavation, engineered retaining walls, automated gates, irrigation systems, outdoor lighting, outdoor kitchens, privacy solutions, sandstone features, pool surrounds and drainage solutions. If your project needs a team that can manage complexity and find the right answers, we’d love the opportunity to work with you.
Gardens & planting
Planting plans built around Australian natives, layered with the right exotics and sourced through the premium nurseries we’ve worked with for two decades. From new gardens around a new home to replanting an established one, we design for how the garden will look in five years, not just on handover day.
Outdoor living
Decks, pergolas, outdoor kitchens and the structures that turn a backyard into another room of the house. Our Willoughby project added an outdoor bathroom and turned a brick shed into a gym and office. Because we’re builders as well as landscapers, the structural work and the garden are designed and delivered together.

Do you take on landscaping on its own?
Yes. Many of our landscape clients come to us for the garden alone, others add a pool or outdoor structures. The one-team approach works at any scale, and complex problems are where we do our best work.

Can you work around established or protected trees?
Yes. Our Mosman project was designed and built under strict tree protection conditions, protecting established trees while still delivering the full design.

What can a landscape project include?
Driveways, excavation, engineered retaining walls, automated gates, irrigation, outdoor lighting, outdoor kitchens, privacy screening, sandstone features, pool surrounds, planting and drainage. Whatever the scope, it’s coordinated by one team under one contract.
