This policy explains what we collect when you use this website or contact us, what we do with it, and how to have it removed. It is written in plain English rather than legal language, because you should be able to read it in a few minutes and know where you stand.
Who we are
Refined Group Pty Ltd, ABN 74 165 082 137. We are a Sydney builder. We build custom homes, and design and construct concrete pools and gardens.
If you have a question about your information, or you want it corrected or deleted, email enquiry@refinedgroup.com.au and we will handle it ourselves.
What we collect
We only collect what you type into one of our two forms. There is nothing hidden.
Enquiry form. Your name, phone number, email address, suburb, the type of project you are considering, and whatever you write in the message box.
Cost guide form. Your email address, and which guide you asked for.
We do not ask for, and have no use for, financial details, identity documents or anything similar. If a message asking for that appears to come from us, it did not.
What we do with it
We use your enquiry to answer it. That usually means a phone call or an email, and if the project is a fit, a conversation about your site.
If you asked for a cost guide, we email you the guide.
We may also email you occasionally afterwards, with something we think is genuinely useful: a project we have finished nearby, or an update worth knowing if you are still planning. Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link, and you can also just reply and ask us to stop. We will, and we will not need a reason.
We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to other builders, brokers, lead generators or advertisers.
How we measure the website
We use two tools to understand how people use this site, so we can make it clearer. Neither of them tells us who you are.
Google Analytics counts visits and shows us which pages people read, roughly where in the country they are, and how they arrived. It reports in aggregate, as numbers rather than individuals.
We partner with Microsoft Clarity to capture how you use and interact with our website through behavioural metrics, heatmaps and session replay, so we can improve the site. Website usage data is captured using first and third party cookies and other tracking technologies. For more information about how Microsoft collects and uses your data, visit the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Worth being specific about session replay, because it sounds more invasive than it is. It reconstructs how a page was scrolled and clicked. It does not record your screen, your camera, your other tabs, or anything outside this website. Anything you type into a form field is never captured, in any configuration. Our settings also mask numbers and email addresses appearing in the page itself.
Cookies
Both tools above set cookies to tell a returning visit from a new one. They are used for measurement, not advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and this site will still work.
If you would rather not be measured at all, you can install the Google Analytics opt out add on, and Microsoft offers its own controls through the privacy statement linked above.
Where your information is kept
Form submissions are stored by Netlify, the service that hosts this website, and are emailed to us. That is the whole path. We do not run a separate customer database, and your details are not copied into other systems.
Netlify and Microsoft are both based in the United States, so information handled by them may be stored or processed outside Australia.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries while we are in contact with you, and for a reasonable period afterwards, because projects often restart a year or two later and it is useful to have the history. If you would rather we did not, email us and we will delete your details.
Seeing or deleting what we hold
Email enquiry@refinedgroup.com.au and ask. We will tell you what we have, correct anything that is wrong, or delete it. There is no form to fill in and no charge.
If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can raise it with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
If we change how any of this works, we will update this page and change the date below. We will not quietly start doing something this policy says we do not do.
